The kitchen is the room whose dimensions are set by appliances and by the distance between them. Counter runs come in fixed depths, appliances come in fixed widths, and the working distance between sink, range and refrigerator is what separates a kitchen that cooks from one that only looks like it does. The templates here cover the layouts production builders actually put in houses — galley, L-shape, L-with-peninsula, U-shape, island and open-concept — plus a commercial cook line drawn to line-equipment spacing rather than residential guidelines. Each one carries the work-triangle legs, the landing space each side of the cooking surface, and the aisle widths on the sheet as dimensioned clearance zones.
Residential layouts follow NKBA guideline dimensions; the commercial line follows equipment spacing and the code sections cited on that sheet.

Two parallel counter runs facing each other across a single work aisle. The most efficient kitchen per square foot and the one whose minimum width is set by arithmetic rather than by taste.
The sheet carries the fixture clearances as drawn geometry on their own layer, with the dimension strings and room notes outside the walls.

A single room on its own sheet is not a whole building, so the checks that grade a floor plate — exit counts, circulation share, fixture counts against an occupant load — have no subject here. They are listed rather than counted as passes.
Perimeter runs plus a freestanding island. The island is the gate: it needs 42 in of clear floor on every side, which is why it belongs only in a room that is already large before the island is drawn.

Two counter runs meeting at a corner, with the other two sides of the room open. The most forgiving kitchen shape, because the work aisle is the open floor rather than a slot between two walls.

Three counter runs on three walls with one open end. It puts the most counter and the most storage in the least walking, and it is the shape that cannot be narrow in either direction.
